Lexonik Leap is an Effective Tool for your multilingual learners.
The Leap programme provides an individual pathway for the multilingual learner hence students have the potential to make rapid progress. The key to success for the multilingual learner begins with the Leap Diagnostic Tool. It should not be surprising that once the language gap narrows for these students, they often make rapid progress due to the nature of their multilingual brains.

The importance of phoneme sounds
Leap caters for the early multilingual learner with activities that teach the correct phoneme sounds which is essential, as learners must have phonemic awareness skills to perceive individual sounds in words. This is crucial for multilingual learners, especially those who may not have the same phonetic sounds in their own home language. Many English speech sounds are not found in other languages, such as Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Arabic and Korean. The activities in the programme are designed specifically to build phonemic awareness skills whilst developing the confidence of the learner through fast, focused and fun activities.
The place of oral rehearsal
Oral rehearsal is vital for multilingual learners, and the scheme provides inbuilt opportunities within the activities for structured “talk” to develop spoken English using the multi-sensory activity cards. The activity cards feature images which are age appropriate and not childish and using visuals works well because multilingual learners are given the context of what is being taught, and this motivates them.
